Description

Who We Are: Redwood Classics Apparel

For three generations of textile excellence, we have strived to provide our customers with the highest level of quality available. Our success in meeting this goal has captured the attention of high end retailers across the country. Our garments are seen across North America, in department stores, retail stores, resorts, universities or corporate identity programs.

The majority of our stock styles feature flatlock stitching which weaves in an extra thread to provide greater strength and durability. Our fabrics are top of the line and the difference will be appreciated upon first touch. Our garments are either pre-shrunk or garment washed to stay true to size.

As a full-service provider, we have vertically integrated every aspect of the production process. From the fabric we stock, to cutting, sewing, private labeling, dyeing, washing, embroidery, screen printing, packing and shipping; our entire process combines traditional, handcrafted practices with state of the art technology and computerization.

Redwood Classics is a proud member of the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI). Our Founder and President Kathy Cheng is also a member of the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women Class of 2014 (EY), an elite group of dynamic women entrepreneurs selected to join a network of the country’s best high-growth companies.

In our continuing effort to strengthen a nationwide movement toward a more equitable, globally responsible industry, we are thrilled to be a member of the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC). Thanks to CAMSC, Aboriginal and minority-owned businesses are provided links to purchasing opportunities at major corporations across Canada and the United States through the promotion and facilitation of supplier diversity. Ultimately, the marketplace experiences equitable distribution of wealth, the creation of employment opportunities, and creation of an expanded customer base. Now that’s something we can stand for.

We Operate with the 3 P’s as our North Star

People : A Commitment to our Diverse Makers
As many of Redwood Classics Apparel’s makers are of Asian immigrant descent, more jobs have been created to further support diversity, equity, and inclusion.

By sharing the importance of our family textile legacy, we create a platform for marginalized distributors and suppliers to have their voices heard.

Planet : Apparel for a Thriving Planet
We recognize our use of natural resources and the impact it has on our environment, and we take steps to minimize our carbon footprint throughout the manufacturing process.

By producing locally, we minimize shipping emissions and material waste.

Circular solutions: We use landfill-destined deadstock and turn it into upcycled fabric.

Prosperity : Fostering a Made-in-Canada Apparel Value Chain
70% of the raw material we consume is knit within a 100-mile radius of our factory in the heart of Toronto, Canada, enhancing our ability to rapidly innovate.

We work with post-secondary institutions to ensure the Ontario region has essential apparel manufacturing skills for the future.
