OUR STORY

The “Our Story” part of Operation Cookies starts in the best decade there ever was…..the 80’s. (Yes, last century)

Angie is the creator of our delicious and amazing cookies. Paul is her support and packer/shipper/marketer/ cust service behind the scenes guy. We met as kids back in the early 80’s when we were both in the 7th grade at the young age of 13. We lived in the same neighborhood, played kickball, rode bikes, went to dances, hung-out, all the innocent things kids did before the internet.

After 9th grade, Angie moved to Chicago – young Paul was heartbroken. But read on…this has a happy ending. After no contact for over 30 years, they reconnected in 2015, formed a relationship, and got married in October 2020.

Angie crafted her baking skills thru the years receiving praise from family, friends, co-workers, anyone who had the opportunity to try them. Gracious in her nature, Angie always made cookies for any occasion, thousands of cookies.

Fast forward to 2016 when Paul deployed to Afghanistan for his last deployment before retirement from the Navy after 30 years of service. Angie, made over 20 care packages and these weren’t your ordinary care packages. Each came with a separate theme in an oversized bankers box. They were stuffed full of goodies, treats, and of course – her homemade cookies. Everyone on the Team looked forward to arrival of Angie’s boxes. The Australian Colonel in charge enjoyed them so much that he ended up buying Angie a gift – an Australian cookbook. Angie graciously used a recipe out of the cookbook and sent it over for all to enjoy.

We are passionate about our country, the freedoms we enjoy and are forever thankful for those who serve our country and protect our way of life and those who have gone before who gave all – WE WILL NEVER FORGET! Without the bravery of these men and women, the way of life we all know today would not exist. It is for the sacrifices of those in uniform, any uniform, that we will always support – our military, first responders, nurses, doctors – everyone who willingly sacrifices for our country.

We sincerely acknowledge the extreme sacrifices made by those in uniform and it is for this reason that we donate to various organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, Fisher House Foundation, the Gary Sinise Foundation and Folds of Honor. To these causes, Operation Cookies has donated $9,100. (as of May 1st, 2022)

Please visit www.operationcookies.com for more information about our mission, see cookie reviews, the cookies we make and ways to order to help support our cause. We ship to deployed service members around the world and to all 50 states.

HOW WE GIVE
Some Warriors make it home wounded from their tour of duty. We sincerely acknowledge this extreme sacrifice and it is for this reason that we choose to donate to the veteran organizations and nonprofits around the country.

At the end of each month, we make a donation to a veteran organization such as Folds of Honor, Fisher House, Wounded Warrior Project or the Gary Sinise Foundation.

We are forever grateful for these brave men and women and will never forget those who did not make it home. Thank you to everyone who has served our country
