OUR STORY

There was never really a plan for King of Pops. It started as a conversation that three brothers were having on an epic trip through Central America.

Over the years, that conversation turned into a dream and when the youngest of the three, Steven, was laid off from his corporate job during the Great Recession – that dream became a reality.

A few months later, Steven’s brother Nick left his job as a lawyer to become the second employee. The brothers went from layoffs and courtrooms to making people happy. The sharp contrast helped them realize how precious each day really is.

While our company has grown a good bit since 2010, we are committed to staying within the South. There are a lot of great places out there, but we feel by limiting ourselves geographically we can have a greater impact on the place we call home.

Our impact is realized by being a positive food influencer, a relentless community supporter, and most importantly a generator of Unexpected Moments of Happiness (UMoHs).

If you see us around town please, please, please try a pop. If you’re not one for frozen things just say hi, and we’ll still do our best to make your day a little sweeter.

OUR PRODUCTS

Most of our pops have between three and five ingredients, but that hasn’t stopped us from making almost 500 flavors over the years. We keep it simple, with wholesome ingredients and lots of taste. We have a lot of fun making King of Pops. We hope you love em’. Let us know if you do (but also let us know if you don’t). We hope they just keep getting better and better.

OUR PRACTICES

We work hard to get fruit and dairy from the best local farms. If there is a fruit in season in the South, we will be doing everything we can to feature it in a pop. From Pearson peaches in Georgia to raspberries from Agriberry in Virginia, we are constantly searching for new partners.

We also team up with local businesses (like coffee roasters and bakeries). And whatever food waste is left over is composted locally at King of Compost on our farm.

Since the beginning, we’ve relied on local farms and farmers markets to get our ingredients. We started our own farm, King of Crops, to learn and teach others about sustainable farming.

We hope to start more farms in the South and continue to find new partners that align with our values. Please let us know if you ever have any ideas to further this mission.
