ABOUT
Giving² For every meal sold at Kabul Social we donate two meals to those in need.
One in Sydney and one in Afghanistan. Change has never tasted so good.
Dining at Kabul Social extends beyond delicious food inspired by the streets of Kabul. We invite you to be part of a collective movement for good. By purchasing a meal at Kabul Social you will not only experience Afghan food, but your purchase will give two meals to those who need it – a meal to someone in Sydney and a meal to a family in Afghanistan.
Our Menu Our menu is inspired by traditional Afghan flavours brought to life by a group of female refugees from Afghanistan. Kabul Social’s menu features generational recipes and modern street food dishes served across three categories – dumplings, ‘Kabuli burgers’ and Kabuli Snack Packs.
Our Purpose Kabul Social is a Plate it Forward venue. We are committed to creating equal opportunity around the table. We employ and train people seeking Asylum creating long-term career pathways and change through food. For every meal purchased we will donate two meals on behalf of our customer- allowing everyone to experience change around the World. Connection. Dignity. Respect.
Kabul Social is founded on the stories and strengths of the people of Afghanistan.
Our mission is to use the universal love language of food to provide connection and compassion between our guests in Sydney and families in Kabul who need the support.
Currently, Afghanistan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises and the united voices of our staff and our community have rallied together to provide employment, education, and immediate responses to the challenges that are currently being faced.
While many of our team have never worked before they are all motivated to not only support their families here, but also driven to create change and improve the outcome for those in need, both in Australia and back home.
Their incredible stories, strength, and the importance of connection through food is at the centre of Kabul Social and you’re invited to help create the change the world needs.
Thank You. Dining at Kabul Social provides employment for Afghan people seeking Asylum and two meals to those who need it.

Giving in Afghanistan
Mahboba’s Promise is an Australian non-profit organisation dedicated to helping disadvantaged women and children in Afghanistan.
Mahboba’s Promise was founded by Mahboba Rawi, an Afghan refugee and now an Australian citizen, who has experienced first-hand the effects of a country torn apart by years of war and civil unrest.
With Mahboba’s intimate knowledge of Afghanistan, Mahboba’s Promise was able to respond effectively and flexibly, to directly meet the needs of the country’s orphans and widows. Since then, Mahboba’s Promise has established schools, shelters and health clinics across Afghanistan and provided numerous sponsorships to widows and orphans in need.
It goes without saying that memories are created around the dining table. Here at Kabul Social, we will work with Mahboba’s Promise to provide widows with the ingredients needed to cook for their children for a month. This way, we give mums the chance to bond and connect with their families without it feeling like charity.
