Today it's the home of Stacey Hunt's Overflow Coffee Co.

Half way there! Kimberly Batson and Alison Frenzel opened Waco's Fabled Bookshop & Cafe in 2019. With an “iconic outdoor mural, 6-foot wooden owl, Narnia-esque lamppost, and a secret wardrobe entrance into the children’s section“, what's not to like?

Ernst Jacques & Hatem Chouchane, Arusha Coffee Co.

Ernst Jacques & Hatem Chouchane, Arusha Coffee Co.

The homestretch! After 3 women-owned businesses, let’s give the boys a chance! Here in Belton, Hatem Chouchane is a long way from his hometown of Tunis, Tunisia. Together with Ernst Jacques, they run Arusha Coffee Co. where they also have a wall of tea and a mean selection of tacos (Tikka Maharaja anyone?).

Next time you’re on the road, treat yourself to some unique experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Give these small businesses a try. Then stay a few minutes and smell the coffee.
